Abstract
Following a series of controversial polling misses in the UK, the House of Lords established an ad hoc committee in September 2017 to consider whether and how political polling should be regulated in the future to improve its accuracy and the quality of reporting of public opinion. In March 2018 the Enquiry published its report, including recommendations relating to the regulation of political polling in the UK. In this panel, the specialist advisor to the Enquiry, Professor Patrick Sturgis, will present the key conclusions and recommendations of the report and reflect on the development of the committee's conclusions. This will be followed by short responses from WAPOR members Sir Bob Worcester, Claire Durrand, and Johnny Heald including Q&A.
